After having purchased a K-Cup brew system from Amazon nearly 2 months ago, I have been on the search for “THE” cup of coffee. While I have ran into some good ones, I haven’t ran into the good one, until now.

If you are looking for a strong, full bodied cup of fresh, dark coffee, without the acidity or bitterness of many other choices, Look No Further. Great from first sip to your decision “Just one more cup”, you will keep downing this liquid gold until your ready to face the day.

I like dark-roasted, full-flavor coffee. I ground my beans and used a Braun coffee maker with a mesh filter for many years. But for the past six months I have been using a Philips Senseo to make my coffee, and Timothy’s Parisian Nights is my favorite flavor. I have tried dark roast coffees from several makers and this one is hands down the best. However, the pods are not well made — I have never had a box (25 pods per box) that has not had at least one defective pod, and it’s usually two per box. And the pods need to be wetted a bit in order for the Senseo to handle them (I don’t know about other coffee makers). But, in the final analysis, the inconvenience is worth because the coffee is rich and delicious.

i’ve burned through about 40 of these pods now and had no problems with the senseo at all. i use the single pod holder, and brew a double cup. admittedly it is a tight fit, but my unit has never leaked or burst open or anything. perhaps there is some variance in the senseos themselves… i’m flabbergasted by all of the other reviews that say to use the double pod holder–that would not work at all with mine!

the coffee itself is pretty good. i’ve found better tasting pods out there, but for the price these are hard to beat, especially when a single pod gives you the double cup! (the 8 oz cup)

EDIT: The Parisian Nights work great in my senseo, but the other variety i tried–”Rainforest Espresso”–is more temperamental. they seem a little puffier. Even though i like the rainforest flavor a bit more, i’d recommending sticking with this variety if you have a senseo.

This is my favorite coffee in the Senseo, and I have tried several different brands and varieties. I like dark, strong coffee, and this fits the bill for me. It’s much smoother to me than the Senseo brand pods that I’ve tried (Senseo Dark, Cafe Noir, Sumatra, and Kenyan Blend). The only pod that I’ve tried that comes close is the Aloha Island Coffee Lava Java Dark Roast.

As you may read on Amazon, the Timothy Pods don’t fit very well in the Senseo. The trick I’ve found (I think I read it on one of the Amazon reviews) is to run tap water over the pod wetting both sides before placing it in the Senseo. Once I wet it on both sides, I place it in the one cup Senseo holder and make the coffee. Prior to learning about this trick, every few Timothy Pods would cause my Senseo to “explode”. I finally came to the point of where I would just hold down the coffee press part of the Senseo whenever I was brewing a Timothy pod. Since learning the pod wetting tip, I have made well over 100 cups without a single leak or explosion.

    The Coffee:

So far, this is the best cup of coffee I’ve had from my Senseo.

I do love the Senseo Medium roast, it is smooth and tasty, but I was used to darker richer blends. This Pod is the best I’ve tried so far. ( My experience is limited to the Senseo brand coffees, “Cafe Noir” and now the Timothies Parisian. I can’t afford some of the more pricey options)

    Use in Senseo:

The fit is a little odd, I have been using the double pod holder with either one of these pods alone, or often with one of the Timothies Pods and a “normal” Senseo pod together. (it’s a GREAT mix with Senseo Sumatra blend! )

I’ll have to try the single pod,.. but yes you can get a good “double cup” from a single pod. You simply can’t fit two of these pods in your double,. but as I mentioned, you can squeeze a Senseo brand on top for a very rich dark cup of Jo.
