I like this cookbook for the historical element it portrays. Unlike ordinary cookbooks which simply apply ingredients to an equation, this cookbook allows you to learn several aspects of the Hotel del Coronado’s history. From the early years to the most recent recipe, you get a glimpse of the lifestyles and current affairs of each era. Not only entertaining, but recipes that can still be used today in charming to elegant parties. Author Beverly Bass’s sophistication spans throughout this book in a way that only she can. I often use this book when preparing traditional, yet fine dined dinner parties.

We vacationed at the Hotel del Coronado in May and felt like pampered royalty while there. I collect cookbooks, so this was of particular interest to me. It has so much history intertwined with the recipes, along with beautiful photography. A “must have” for “The Del” lovers!
