What to Expect in our Adventure Travel Newsletter?
Expect to learn about the world of adventure travel. Our newsletter is meant to tide you over and help you learn about destinations and plan your next adventure. Fun and fascinating stories, staff picks, special events and plenty of contests and promotions are jammed into each newsletter. Some common features in our bridging the gap adventure travel newsletter include:
Feature Stories
Each newsletter focuses on a specific destination or theme, for example “World Festivals” or “New trips in Peru”. These stories are usually inspired by real travel experiences and aim to real some of the mysteries, oddities or funny encounters that you may experience while travelling around the world. Often with a quirky twist, these informative stories are meant to satisfy your curiosity for culture and desire to defy the mainstream.
G.A.P Adventures TOP 5 Lists
As chosen by our staff, travellers or community members, these lists are always a popular feature. Topics vary greatly and have included everything from the Top 5 Chilean Wines to the Top 5 Inca Trail Tips and Top 5 Undiscovered Gems. More than a mere listing of popular “guidebook” must-see highlights, these lists are personal picks from people that have been there.
Community Updates
Sharing travel experiences is what our online community is all about. We’ll often link to recent videos or photos submitted by our community members. Get inspired by the stunning scenery, charismatic people and wild encounters that others have to share.
Postcards from the Edge
Do you have a story to share? This is where our travellers and readers get to shine in the spotlight. Stories from people that have been on our trips, or have travelled around the world on their own are often included in our newsletters. If you have a blog, are a budding travel writer or simply want to share one of your special travel experiences, then drop us a line. Testimonials from our past travellers are also highlighted in each newsletter.
Where in the World Image Guessing Game
Think you know your travel trivia? Can you convert that trivia knowledge into pictures? If so, our photo guessing game is for you. Each travel newsletter offers up two images of mystery. If you guess correctly, you could be the winner of our next prize package. One winner is chosen from among the correct answers in each newsletter.
Responsible & Sustainable Tourism
Through our non-profit organization, the Planeterra Foundation, we support a number of community development projects throughout Latin America and around the globe. We also have a number of exciting fundraising events throughout the year, such as our annual Skydiving event, which brings our staff and travellers together to raise money for a good cause.
Contests & Promotions
Now this is where the fun begins. Free trips, special offers from our partners and all sorts of great prizes. Virtually every issue of bridging the gap has a chance to win a free trip. Maybe it’s Africa, maybe the Galapagos, maybe the Arctic. The only way to find out is to subscribe. Plus, we often have special offers available from some of our partners like Putumayo World Music, Shutterfly.com and Lonely Planet!
Armchair Traveller
Unfortunately travel isn’t free, so sometimes we have to enjoy the rest of the world form the comforts of our own home. This is where our Armchair Traveller feature comes in by highlighting some great books, movies and other media. If you’ve read a great book to bring with you on the road less travelled, or know of a must-see movie, we’d be happy to spread the word.
Specials & Last-Minute Trips
Last, but not least of course! Each issue highlights a handful of adventures around the world that are offered at 20% off. For anyone looking for a great deal on a quick getaway, it does not get any better than this. These trips do usually sell-out, as space is very limited, but if you’re catching a case of the travel bug then take a look at these and hop aboard a G.A.P Adventure to experience a different kind of travel.
…Plus Plenty more
INformation on our TV series “The Great Adventure People” or local Concept Store events and travel shows appear in our newsletter as well. We like to surprise you with new features and special mentions as well! We may throw in a quick poll here and there, add a new video to our community, or give away tickets to an event in your area. Rest assured, you can expect our newsletter to always be full of interesting and fun travel topics.
